Score Bands

What each GEO Score band means and what to prioritise in each range.

GEO Scores fall into four bands. Each band reflects a qualitatively different relationship between your website and AI search systems — not just a number on a scale.

AI-Ready — 80 to 100

Your site is well-positioned for AI discovery. Bot access is open, your sitemap is clean, structured data is present, and page performance is solid. AI systems can crawl, parse, and cite your content without significant friction.

What to focus on at this level: keeping files current as your content changes (use AI Content Refresh) and monitoring for regressions (use GEO Monitor).

Good — 60 to 79

Most of the core signals are present. You are likely indexed by major AI systems but may be missing some structured data, have incomplete Open Graph tags, or have a minor sitemap issue. AI systems can access your content but may not fully understand your entity or page context.

What to focus on: structured data completeness and Open Graph tags. These are the highest-leverage fixes in this range, typically adding 10–20 points.

Needs Work — 40 to 59

Multiple meaningful gaps exist. You likely have at least one bot blocked, a missing or broken sitemap, or no structured data. AI systems may be accessing your site but cannot reliably understand what it is or who operates it.

What to focus on: bot access and sitemap first — these are the fastest and most impactful fixes. Then add structured data. Together these can move a Needs Work site into the Good range quickly.

Poor — 0 to 39

There are significant blocking issues. Common causes include a robots.txt that blocks all bots with Disallow: /, no sitemap, HTTP-only hosting, or no meta tags at all. AI systems are very likely ignoring this site.

What to focus on: fixing bot access first — it is the single largest category (20 points) and can often be fixed in under five minutes by updating robots.txt. Then address the sitemap. Running an Indexora scan and deploying the generated files is the fastest path out of this band.

How scores change over time

Score changes are logged per domain when using GEO Monitor. A delta of 5 or more points triggers an email alert. Blocking issues that appear between scans — such as a bot suddenly getting blocked — also trigger an immediate alert regardless of the total score change.
